27 Aug OrganoVIR’s ESR Shined Bright at the WC11 Conference
“I am very excited about presenting at such a big conference. I can see that the WC11 has the potential to help change life science research.” – Giulia Moreni, ESR at OrganoVIR.
On 25th August 2021, our ESR Giulia Moreni presented at the 11th World Congress on Alternatives and Animal Use in the Life Sciences (WC11). During session 152: “Organoid technology for infectious diseases: from innovation to established models”, Giulia delivered a presentation to talk about the translation of animal model results to human disease (in the context of Polio) and how findings can be studied to implement new technologies.
For the first time in almost 30 years, the conference was held online. The focus of this year’s conference is “3Rs in transition: from development to application”, which aims to explore progress made on technologies that replaces the use of animal models in life science research and how the transition towards such technologies is happening.
Before the conference, Giulia rehearsed in front of her peers and supervisors to deliver her message to a diversified audience and to ensure that the audience could follow her presentation easily. We can testify that her efforts and rehearsals were paid off, as she shined bright at the WC11! We are very proud of Giulia, and we hope to see more presentations from her in the future.
